The next generation of sound absorption, Acousti-Seal Encore Micro-Perf® panel core has an NRC of .90. After covering the panel with one of two acoustical covering lines, an NRC of .95 is achieved.

What is NRC?

The Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) measures how much sound is absorbed by a panel surface, using a scale from 0 to 1.

Not only does the Acousti-Seal Encore Micro-Perf® panel reach industry-leading NRC, it also produces a high-achieving STC. A full wall-to-wall assembly is certified at 49 STC while a full wall sealed to the back of a Type III pocket door is certified at 51 STC.

What is STC?

Sound Transmission Class is an integer rating of how well a building partition attenuates airborne sound. A high-rated NRC panel will help make the room quieter and speech clear.  For a quick refresher on sound, STC and NRC, you are encouraged to watch the Science of Sound video.
