Room to Grow: How a Training Center’s Flexible Space is Empowering its Employees

With Midwest Elevator’s growing portfolio of real estate, healthcare, hospitality, education, and senior living clients needing vertical transportation or elevator services, its leadership recognized the critical need to invest in employee training.  By brining the training facilities in house, many companies are experiencing the priceless benefits of increased employee productivity and reduced turnover.

Investment in Employee Training

Ravensberg, a Modernfold licensed distributor, alongside Fox Architects and Cissell Mueller Construction aided in helping Midwest Elevator achieve that goal with the construction of a third training facility located in Kirkwood, Missouri.  The project entailed a full outfitting of a purchased warehouse into a stylish and engaging space to upskill or reskill their employee base. 

Trust in Modernfold Products

Fox Architect identified the need for an operable wall that could offer superior sound control, maximum durability, and yet could still provide a high-end aesthetic.  Building on their long relationship with Ravensberg and their trust in the Modernfold products, Fox selected Modernfold over the other bidding manufacturers. 

Ultimately, the Acousti-Seal® Legacy® product was selected.  Its steel panel construction and 50 STC exceeded the technical specifications for performance.  In addition, the robust standard finish options that Modernfold offers each day, allowed for Fox to specify a colorful and posh Maharam Tek-Wall Tint covering with black trim for zero upcharges.  

Ravensberg has held a long history of providing custom solutions and shared expertise with their partners.  This job proved to be no different.  With Ravensberg’s guidance, Cissell Mueller was able to use the existing steel structure for the wall support and skip the expense of a truss system.  This level of consultation proved that Ravensberg was once again the right team for the job.

Midwest Elevator has great pride in the finished space and the optimal performance of the wall.  Today, they are using the training center for employee education, but also corporate events, lunches, and hospitality.  The space now brings a sense of comradery and purpose to their whole team.
