York High School

Education - When the growing York High School needed more class space they turned to Modernfold.  With over 2,400 students enrolled in the 80 year old school, space is always at a premium.  Several basic goals needed to be accomplished during the refurbishing, including maintaining the historic value of the building, providing visual relief and orientation within long corridor spaces, and giving a sense of cohesion between diverse parts of the complex.
With those goals in mind, classrooms needed to be divided to accommodate classes, but have the option to be opened up fully for a larger environment.

Prominent Features

Solution—Modernfold's 932 Acousti-Seal Paired Panel with full height marker boards.  The 932 is ideal for situations such as York High School where acoustical control is necessary and durability and flexibility are required.  The continuous writing surface created by the full height marker board is an exclusive feature offered by Modernfold. This added benefit provides additional work space in divided rooms for the teachers as well as the students.
